New Years Eve

Happy New Year Everyone!

Yesterday I didn’t workout as planned on my training schedule because I was sore from my 7 mile long run and also it was New Years Eve ;) (sorry Hal)

I have great news though! I am at 159 lbs! I am half way to were I want to be. Lets do a recap of my very chill New Years Eve! :)

So yesterday I spent New Years Eve with my Aunt, her friend and her friends daughter. My aunt lives in River North and I was excited to check out her apartment!

(The Merchandise Mart lit up for the holidays)

After we arrived at her apartment I got ready and we headed out for dinner at Kinzie Chophouse

It was a 10 minute walk from my aunts place to the Kinzie Chophouse. Lets just say I froze as we were walking to the restaurant.

I have seen the Kinzie Chophouse on the brown line before but have never gone in there. When we arrived there it reminded me of an old school steak house restaurant. (Obviously the Kinzie Chophouse is known for their steak but I really don’t like a lot of meat)

I ordered the halibut with peppercorn (I love my spicy food) photo-1

I have never had any other fish besides salmon. The halibut was really fresh and light. I am not a food critic but darn was it tasty!

After dinner we walked back to my aunts apartment for a fun night!

In my aunts apartment she has a spa where there is a hot tub in the middle, a steam room and a sauna. I was extremely sore from my 7 mile run on Sunday (yeah I know I am wimp) so the hot tub really helped with my achy muscles! We enjoyed some champagne while listening to some Michael Buble (Gosh that man can sing).

After the spa we headed up to the personal movie theater in her apartment complex. We watched Trouble With the Curve. At 11:59pm we counted down to the new year. I went to bed at 12:05 am. I was exhausted.

I am very happy that 2012 came to a close. It was a rough year in many aspects. The two positive things that came out of 2012 was that I started participating in races and I got accepted to intern at the European Union Parliament in Brussels. I am making 2013 the year of positivity and growth!

How was your new years eve? What are your goals for 2013?

Spicy food is amazing! I would totally carry a small bottle of tabasco sauce in my purse if could.

Thanks! :) It’s hard trying to loose weight around the holidays! The bubbly did help my sore muscles though haha
