Um. OMG ONE MORE DAY! Where did the time go?
Before I get into this post I got my hair highlighted because it was in some serious need of a tune up!
Yay for high lights!
Ok moving forward.
I know that last week I wrote a post about what goals I wanted to achieve for my first half marathon.
Some of the goals were
1. Finish Strong
2. Focus my energy on the race not on my pace.
3. Finish between 2:00-2:15
4. Try not to puke. <— I promise it wont happen this time.
Now I am really excited for this half marathon but also nervous. I am excited because this is such a huge deal for me. I have never really committed to anything in life , in terms of sports, but with running I have. I am excited that my mom, aunt, and dad are going to be there to cheer me on at the finish line. I am excited that I am doing my first of hopefully many half marathons.
However my nerves are telling me this:
I am nervous that I won’t achieve my goal pace. I am nervous that I will not be able to warm up. I am nervous that I wont have anyone to run with. I am nervous that my calf muscles will give out. I am nervous about falling into the lake (yes that has always been a legitimate concern of my mine). I am nervous of “failure”.
I have packed everything I need for the race tomorrow (I am staying in the city with my aunt)
I love my trifecta of colors for my layers!
From the top:
Nike Running Jacket, Gloves, Spibelt, Fleece Headband, Sports Bra, CEP Compression Calve Sleeves, Tights, Underarmour base Cold Gear, Nike Dri Fit Thermal, and F3 half t-shirt (yes I am one of those people that like to wear race t-shirts the day of the race).
In terms of fueling I am going use the Accel vanilla gel that I used about 3 weeks ago. It was the only gel that my stomach could handle. I also am not going to drink coffee the day of the race because I think the acidity is to much for my stomach.
Enough of my babbling. I wont be posting twitter updates on my phone nor will I be posting pictures during the race.
Before I go I just have to say it one more time: I am running a half marathon tomorrow! wow!

Yay! Good luck!
Thanks!

So awesome that your fam is going to be there! Have a great time! Try not to focus so much about pace, just enjoying your first half and having fun!
And while I hope you don’t puke, that sure would be an epic first half!!!
