Happy Sunday Everyone!
Here is my training plan for week 2 of training for the CrossTown Classic.
So I am training for a 10k that is coming up at the end of September and I am finally happy to be back in the running arena.
Yesterday morning I ran the free I run because 5k out in Oakbrook, IL. It was in Fullersburg Woods. (I forgot to take some photos of the race site so I googled imaged the pictures)
The race started a little after 8:00am.
The first 1/2 mile of the race was extremely crowded and I almost tripped over little kids. <—-EEKK!
Mile 1: 8:43
Hello wheels. I went out way too fast for my first mile and I would suffer for the next mile and a half.
Mile 2: 9:59
I was extremely exhausted from going out way to fast from Mile 1 and decided to slow the pace down. It was a little hilly and by this point I wanted to kill all the bugs that were eating at me.
Mile 3: 10:50
The reason why I ran this way is because
1. There was a giant a** creature lurking around the woods that made me panic.
2. I ran into a dozen + spider webs
3. It was starting to get really humid
Overall I ran the 5k in 30:15!
Not too shabby for someone who hasn’t ran more than 3+ miles in over a month
The race itself was alright. I wasn’t too impressed with the course because the start line was very claustrophobic and the finish line was also extremely small.
I also wanted to share with you guys something very special that I made yesterday.
Are you ready for it?…..
I COOKED! Yes that is right! I finally made a dish that I am proud to say is my favorite dish of all times and its quite tasty too
I found this recipe from dailygarnish.com and it was titled Butternut Squash and Cranberry Maple Millet. Instead of putting the millet for the grain I used quinoa.
I highly recommend that everyone go and make this recipe because its so easy to back and it tastes delicious
Have a good rest of the day folks. I am headed for my “long” run and doing homework after this post!
